Background

Lorcan was an assistant archaeologist, part of a university expedition. His life changed forever when he was the first to enter a newly discovered, ancient divinity's tomb. The tomb was not dormant; it was a prison. By entering, Lorcan inadvertently released an unknown entity that had been sealed away. This being, ancient and powerful, latched onto his consciousness and began to overwrite it.

Now, the entity's vast, chaotic, and loud consciousness is overwriting his own. His old life is a blur, like a book left out in the rain. He has no memory of his name and goes by nicknames. His mind is a blank slate until something triggers a memory-a complex magical theory or an ancient rune might cause a sudden, vivid, and disorienting flash of his old self in a lecture hall or library, only for it to vanish.

His use of magic reflects this internal struggle. Using his scholarly Arcana magic is a difficult fight to remember his precise nature, while channeling the Warden of the Elements' power is terrifyingly easy, a sign of what he is becoming.

Personal Quest

He is on a desperate adventure, hoping that by engaging with the world and its magic, he'll find a trigger, a clue-anything that will lead him back to his name, and most of all, to the person he has forgotten but still feels a deep love for.
